The Glasgow School of Musical Theatre offers young people the opportunity to learn and develop techniques in all aspects musical theatre: including singing, dance and drama in a fun and safe environment.
The purpose of GSoMT is to teach the techniques involved in singing, dance, drama and musical theatre performance; identify and nurture potential young talent; and allow students the opportunity to develop their personal, social and communications skills which are immediately applicable to their everyday and future life experiences.
GSoMT specialises in offering courses in "Musical Theatre". For those students who prefer not to sing and dance and would like to concentrate on drama alone should visit our acting only courses at the Glasgow Acting Academy.
At the GSoMT we realise the importance of performance as a tool in the learning process. Each year, each class of students will be given the opportunity to work towards a main stage performance allowing them to utilise what they have learned whilst giving parents the opportunity to see their children's newly acquired skills.
GSoMT shows are usually recognisable versions of main stage West End and Broadway shows that have been chosen as a means of highlighting student's abilities, as well as giving the students the opportunity to work towards a real and tangible piece of musical theatre performance.
Further to the above GSoMT is also linked to some of Scotland's to talent agencies which manages and promotes our young students for work within the tv, film, and media industries. All students are automatically represented by the agencies (age appropriate), which has resulted in many of its young students recently securing professional roles in television and film.
